Finishes

Finishes are coverings (flooring, ceilings, tiles) sold per square metre. Each grid row is a surface of the order, identified by a code you define.

Adding a surface

Items are entered straight into the grid — this console has no finder.

  1. In the ID field, enter a code for the surface (letters and numbers, for example A1). The ID identifies the surface and helps tie it to the plan. It is required and cannot be repeated within the same order.
  2. In the Item field, choose the product from the list.
  3. Enter the Width (cm) and the Length (cm) of the surface.
  4. The Area (m²) and the Subtotal are calculated automatically.

Entering the next surface is quick

Each new row already carries the same Item as the previous row, speeding up entry of several surfaces of the same product.

The grid fields

Field What it does
ID Surface code (required, unique within the order).
Item The flooring or ceiling product.
Width (cm) Width of the surface, in centimetres.
Length (cm) Length of the surface, in centimetres.
Area (m²) Width × Length ÷ 10,000 (calculated).
Price/m² Price per square metre. Starts at the store price.
Variation Surcharge or discount against the pricelist price, in %.
Subtotal Area × Price/m² (calculated).

As in Miscellaneous, Price/m² and Variation are linked: changing one adjusts the other.

When the customer gives only the area

Often the customer states just the total area (for example, 50 m²). In that case, enter a width and a length that produce that area — for example, 500 cm × 1000 cm = 50 m².

Notes

  • Return of goods: a negative width records a Return; the row is highlighted in red.
  • Discontinued products: a product discontinued after the sale was saved appears greyed out and cannot be edited.
  • Items on a delivery: a surface already included on a delivery is fully locked for editing — there is no quantity-only editing here (as in Miscellaneous), since the quantity comes from the dimensions.
  • Blocks, adhesive and accessories that go with the flooring or ceiling should be entered through the Miscellaneous console.
  • To delete items or apply Quick Price to several at once, see the Sales page.
